Remote is tested on a keyless entry tester for radio signal strength, battery strength, and proper functioning before shipping to you. The transponder is also prepared to ensure it is ready for vehicle programming. Emergency key is included with remote.
Programming Procedure :
1. Start with the following conditions:
a. New Remote is not in the remote ignition slot.
b. Driver door is open (all other doors are closed)
c. Driver door is unlocked (other doors don’t matter).
2. Perform the next two steps within 5 seconds:
a. Place new remote in the remote slot then remove it.
b. Place new remote in the remote slot then remove it.
3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Close then open the driver’s door.
b. Close then open the driver’s door.
c. Place remote in the remote slot then remove it.
d. Place remote in the remote slot then remove it.
e. Close then open the driver’s door.
f. Close then open the driver’s door.
g. Place remote in the remote slot then remove it.
h. Place remote in the remote slot then remove it.
i. Place remote in the remote slot then close the door.
4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds (Do not depress the brake pedal during this step.):
a. Press POWER button to switch ignition ON (amber LED illuminated) and then OFF once to program a remote while retaining old remotes or twice to program a remote while erasing old remotes.
b. Remove remote from the remote slot.
5. Within 5 seconds, the power door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) automatically (once or twice depending on which mode was selected) indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to Step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.
6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for 1.5 seconds and release.
b. Within 3 seconds, press the LOCK button. The door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) once indicating successful programming. If the door locks cycle twice, remote programming has failed.
c. Within 40 seconds, repeat steps 6a and 6b for each additional transmitter.
7. Open driver’s door.
8. Test transmitter(s) for function.
