Programming Procedure:
1. Start with the following conditions:
a. Key is out of the ignition
b. Driver door is open (all other doors are closed)
c. Driver door is unlocked (other doors don?? matter).
2. Toyota Avalon (2000-2001), Toyota 4Runner (2001-2002): Insert the key into the ignition (don?? turn it) and pull it out.
2. Toyota Tundra (2003), Toyota Sienna (2001), Toyota RAV-4 (2001-2003), Toyota MR2 (2000-2004), Toyota Echo (2000-2003), Toyota Celica (2000-2003), Toyota Camry (2000-2001), Toyota 4Runner (2000), Toyota Tacoma (2002-2004), Toyota Corolla (2003): Perform the next two steps within 5 seconds:
a. Insert the key into the ignition (don?? turn it) and pull it out.
b. Insert the key into the ignition (don?? turn it) and pull it out.
3. Toyota Avalon (2000-2001), Toyota 4Runner (2001-2002): Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Using the power lock/unlock switch on the driver?? door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock. A lock/unlock cycle consists of pressing the power lock switch, followed by pressing the power unlock switch on the driver?? door panel. Use an even pace and try to go relatively fast.
b. Close, then open the driver?? door.
3. Toyota Tundra (2003), Toyota Sienna (2001), Toyota RAV-4 (2001-2003), Toyota MR2 (2000-2004), Toyota Echo (2000-2003), Toyota Celica (2000-2003), Toyota Camry (2000-2001), Toyota 4Runner (2000), Toyota Tacoma (2002-2004), Toyota Corolla (2003): Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Close then open the driver?? door.
b. Close then open the driver?? door.
c. Insert the key into the ignition (don?? turn it) and pull it out.
4. Toyota Tundra (2003), Toyota Sienna (2001), Toyota RAV-4 (2001-2003), Toyota MR2 (2000-2004), Toyota Echo (2000-2003), Toyota Celica (2001-2003), Toyota Camry (2000-2001): Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Close then open the driver?? door.
b. Close then open the driver?? door.
c. Insert the key into the ignition.
d. Close the driver?? door.
e. Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking your engine) then back to OFF.
f. Remove the key from the ignition.
4. Toyota Celica (2000), Toyota 4Runner (2000), Toyota Tacoma (2002-2004), Toyota Corolla (2003): Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Close then open the driver?? door.
b. Close then open the driver?? door.
c. Close the driver?? door.
d. Insert the key into the ignition.
e. Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking your engine) then back to OFF.
f. Remove the key from the ignition.
4. Toyota Avalon (2000-2001), Toyota 4Runner (2001-2002): Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Using the power lock/unlock switch on the driver?? door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock (just as you did previously).
b. Insert Key in ignition.
c. Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking your engine), then back to OFF.
d. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to Step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.
6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously (at the same) for 1 second and release.
b. Toyota Tacoma (2002-2004), Toyota Corolla (2003), Toyota Tundra (2003), Toyota Sienna (2001), Toyota RAV-4 (2001-2003), Toyota MR2 (2000-2004), Toyota Echo (2000-2003), Toyota Celica (2001-2003), Toyota Camry (2000-2001): Immediately after releasing the lock and unlock buttons, press the unlock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) once indicating successful programming.
b. Toyota Avalon (2000-2001), Toyota 4Runner (2001-2002), Toyota Celica (2000), Toyota 4Runner (2000): Immediately after releasing the lock and unlock buttons, press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) once indicating successful programming.
NOTE: If the door locks don?? cycle, or cycle twice, repeat steps 6a and 6b as the remote has not been accepted.
c. Within 40 seconds, repeat steps 6a and 6b for each additional transmitter, including any old transmitters.
7. Toyota 4Runner (2000), Toyota Tundra (2003), Toyota Sienna (2001), Toyota RAV-4 (2001-2003), Toyota MR2 (2000-2004), Toyota Echo (2000-2003), Toyota Celica (2000-2003), Toyota Camry (2000-2001): Open driver?? door.
7. Toyota Avalon (2000-2001), Toyota 4Runner (2001-2002): Close driver door.
8. Test transmitter(s) for function.
