Description
1995 Jeep Cherokee Factory Keyless Infrared Remote 2 Button
You can program the vehicle to accept new remotes yourself with the programming instructions. We test the remote on an IR tester before sending it to you.
Remote for Jeep:
This is a very hard to find remote. Unlike most car remotes, this works by transmitting Infrared signals instead of radio signals. Vehicles equipped with the system that uses this remote will have a small black dome on the roof liner above the center console. That is the receiver. If you don’t have the dome then you don’t have the system that uses this remote.
Programming Procedure:
1. Open the driver鈥檚 door of the vehicle. Leave it open through the programming procedure.
2. Move the driver鈥檚 door mechanical door lock lever – not the power lock switch – to the lock position.
3. Insert the ignition key and turn it to the RUN position (as far as it goes without cranking the engine.)
4. Within 20 seconds, aim a remote at the receiver dome and press the LOCK button for at least 5 seconds. Once the receiver accepts the programming code the driver鈥檚 door will unlock.
5. Once the first remote has been programmed, additional remotes up to four may be programmed. Within 20 seconds of the previous remote programming, move the mechanical door lock lever to the LOCK position. Aim the next remote at the receiver dome and press LOCK for at least 5 seconds. The door lock will cycle again.
6. The ignition must be turned off and back on within 20 seconds of the last remote for all programming to be saved. At that time all previously programmed remotes will be unprogrammed if you didn鈥檛 program them just before.
The following vehicles can use this remote when equipped with the factory keyless entry system:
Jeep Cherokee (1993-1996), Jeep Grand Cherokee (1993-1995).
